This class is for the person who has always wanted to venture into this fascinating medium but was afraid to try. The beginner will learn the basics of brush handling, selecting materials, mixing colors, planning a composition, and so much more. It will be a refresher course for those with some watercolor experience, offering a chance to explore new subject matter and self-expression. The class will be Fridays in April, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17 and 4/24 from 9a-Noon. MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED.
If you are interested in exploring photography, whether it’s through a “real” camera or your smartphone, come join us on the first Monday of the Month from October – May at 4:00 PM. We have speakers, workshops and photo outings throughout the season.
In this two-session workshop, we’ll explore the beauty, power and elegance of the horse -from carful study to a finished painting.
Board meets the first Tuesday of the month.
In this 3 hour hands on class professional photographer Gary Requa will teach you everything you need to know to take your photography from your cellphone to a print media of your choice, including canvas, metal, paper, acrylic and more.This part one class will cover photo capabilities, formats available, and the how‘s and why’s to using each. He will also share how to organize your photos within your camera, storage considerations, and how to download photos to your laptop. Gary will discuss some of the photos he has taken and how he used them creatively.
This part two class will be more in depth, focusing on post-processing within your cellphone and how to download images to your laptop of choice. Gary will also be demonstrating the different types of software available and how to take the finished product to the next level, i.e. printing, web, etc. It is highly suggested you sign up for Gary’s part one class on April 8th, but it is not required. He will not have the time to review information from his part one class. IT IS HIGHLY SUGGESTED TO BRING A LAPTOP to class but not required.

IParticipants will create a spontaneous textured/layered artwork using acrylic paint, gel mediums and various kinds of paper, ie, tissue paper, napkins, old book pages, or magazine photos. The focus of this class is to explore composition, texture and color through a playful mixed media approach. SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED, but if you have some fun papers please bring them.
